Secure Falcon and Patch 1.08

Postby BUFF » Mon Nov 06, 2006 12:25 am

Secure Falcon in its present state does not work with Patch 1.08. Patch 1.07 is still the offical install of the IDFL.

Attention!!

You must reverse the order. You 1.08 install must be non-default becuse Secue Falcon looks for the 1.07 intsall there. However, the patch will only install to the default location.

I'll have to do some creative copying to get my secue falcon to work now

I couldn't get this to work. I deleted all Falcon installs (as the one I had used was already patched up to 1.08) and reinstalled from scratch. I then copied the folders into a new Lead Pursuit 1.08 folder as mentioned. Then I updated the first Lead Pursuit install to 1.07 - no prob there. I then used the auto updater in the Lead Pursuit 1.08 folder to update to 1.06 (as it'll only update to that initially) but the update failed.

Seems like I need to hold back copying the folders over till I've updated the first to 1.07 - then I can use the auto updater in that folder to patch up to 1.08.

I'll try again later.

I've done mine a bit different.

With my 107 install;
  • I renamed the folder containing FalconAF.EXE from Lead Pursuit to Lead Pursuit 107
  • I then uninstalled Falcon 4 Allied Force
  • I then installed from the CD to the same folder structure as before (D:\Games\F4\Lead Pursuit).
  • I used the 108 EXE patch.
  • I copied the config and other saved data from the 107 to the 108 install (note that I'm not sure what will be compatible)

To choose which patch version I am going to fly, I simply rename the folders as follows (assuming 107 is my current choice):
  • To fly 108
    • Rename Lead Pursuit to Lead Pursuit 107
    • Rename Lead Pursuit 108 to Lead Pursuit
  • Then to fly 107
    • Rename Lead Pursuit to Lead Pursuit 108
    • Rename Lead Pursuit 107 to Lead Pursuit

Cheers,
Nap
